Wanted man who fled to Spain has been arrested.

Daniel Sanderson fled to Spain after attacking his girlfriend.

Sanderson attempted to come back to Britain after he was attacked with a baseball bat in Spain and his health insurance had ran out.

The Grimsby man, who ran away to Spain after attacking his girlfriend, ended up in a coma for three and a half weeks when he was hit in the head with a baseball bat.

He suffered a fractured skull and bleeds to the brain but was forced to fly back to Britain because his health insurance no longer paid for his treatment in Spain. He was arrested at the airport for failing to turn up for his court hearing.

Assault and criminal damage.

The 28 year-old, of Antrim Way, Scartho, admitted assault and criminal damage.

A warrant without bail was issued for his arrest and had been outstanding since July 12.

The assault happened on June 4 when he spat in his girlfriend’s face after an earlier four-day cocaine binge.

Hallucinations because of drugs.

He woke her while suffering hallucinations because of drugs.

He thought someone was under the bed and picked up a hammer before shouting abuse at his girlfriend.

He was given a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and a Government-imposed £20 victims’ surcharge.
