Love not Hate
Our friend and Globe regular; Coron is a 15 year old Trans woman and has been the subject of a violent transphobic attack which has left her hospitalised and with memory gaps following a head injury. The attack took place in Grimsby last week. Rather than respond to this terrible assault with anger and repercussions it seems fitting to respond with love and care.
As a result we are converting our monthly LGBT night next Thursday (4th April doors open 7pm) into a get well soon’ party.
We would like to encourage as many members of the LGBT+ and the wider community to come and show their support and wish Coron a speedy recovery.
We want people to come together and show Coron and the wider community that the haters are far outnumbered by the number of people locally who welcome, support and care about the trans and wider LGBT+ community.
We will also be raising money on the night and depending on how much is raised we are hoping to fund a spa day or something similar for Coron so that she can relax and enjoy herself.
This is all very short notice so we will post updates as the details become clarified so Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details.
We are trying to organise live music and entertainment as well as a prize draw. If anyone is willing to help with entertainment or prizes for the prize draw please contact Matthew at The Globe 🌍.
Whilst this is an LGBT night, you don’t need to be a member of the LGBT community to come along. This is an opportunity for EVERYONE to come together to show their support and prove that love is more powerful than hate.
Please share this post so that we can get the word out as widely as possible and make this an event to remember.
See you there.
