A women men has been injured in a serious crash in Wellington Street.
A speeding Citroen people carrier was being pursued by police in a marked car.
The people carrier crashed into the Chrysler and sent both cars into the pavement and a wall at approx 9.50am.
A woman was driving the Chrysler and was removed from the wreckage by firefighters, and then taken to hospital, it is thought she is not seriously injured.
It is believed the Citroen was driving dangerously round the Freeman Street area before the crash.
One man was arrested at the scene. Wellington Street was closed from Freeman Street to Heneage Road.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101 quoting Log 146 of 10/4/19.
