Do you feel pressure to give a tip?

In America, they expect you to tip for just about everything. But in the UK it’s not so commonplace.

Do you feel obliged to tip in a restaurant, or do you only tip if the service is good?

Some restaurants tips go in the till and the company ends up getting it. Some restaurants ask when you settle the bill how much you would like to add to cover a tip. Surely tipping should be a choice, not an obligation.

It always seems the norm to tip your hairdresser, beautician and taxi driver.

Some people we spoke to are of the opinion that they are being paid to do a job. So why should you tip them as people in other jobs don’t get tips But others say if the service is good and is worthy of a tip they will give one.

What is your opinion do you feel under pressure to give a tip?
