Thieves are believed to have used a large telehandler to smash through the wall of the Lincolnshire Co-op store in Caistor High Street. They then removed the ATM machine.
Parts of the ATM are scattered around the front of the store. Police have placed a cordon around the shop while they investigate the robbery.
Police were called at 1.34am this morning. They believe that a 4×4 was used and driven away from the scene along with other vehicles.
Officers later found the 4×4 on the A46 abandoned with the empty ATM inside. Police believe that the offenders abandoned the 4×4 and left in another vehicle.
