Going for a walk could make your brain younger.

A study by Boston University suggests that a gentle walk could make your brain younger. For those people who meet a daily target of 10,000 steps or more have a brain age 1.8 years younger than people who will only do 5,000 steps or less.

The study was on 2,300 people who wore fitness trackers. With the average age of 53,  the study found that those who only did an hour of light physical activity had a gain in brain age of 1.4 years.

The size of brains shrink as we get older. Age calculations were based on the size of brains.

A good reason to try and walk the recommended 10,000 steps a day.
