NELBDG – Who Are We?
The NELBDG is an open and friendly badminton club, based in the North East Lincolnshire region. We welcome players of all ages, gender and abilities and prides itself on providing a positive and enthusiastic environment, for players to enjoy. Badminton is the fastest racket sport in the world, which we’re passionate about and making it available to all.
The badminton group runs sessions across 6 days per week that include junior, adult & family sessions, including two Over 50’s sessions (with the Over 50’s sessions run in partnership with our local leisure centre) and numerous school clubs. Our junior clubs offer specific development and training, providing a professional coaching service from Badminton England qualified and registered coaches.
With regards to junior development, the NELBDG has a proud history of helping to guide many junior players to develop their skills, learn the sport and enabling them to progress and represent the Lincolnshire County Squads and compete on the National Circuit (with numerous successes), with some going on to represent England at junior and university level.
For the adults; although sessions are mainly aimed at social and friendly play (for those that wish to be competitive), the NELBDG run incorporated singles and doubles league matches into all of its club nights.
