Thief steals From Cleethorpes Brass Band.
Members from Cleethorpes Brass Band have been left shocked after wallets, purses and car keys have been stolen as they were playing at Grimsby Central Hall. They even had a car stolen while they performed on stage. It is believed that a man was hiding in the toilets before the show. He then went through their belongings and used car keys to steal a black Mercedes which was parked outside. It happened around 4 pm on Sunday at their Movie Magic concert.
Over a few hours, he spent at least £1,000 on bank cards before victims realised what had happened. Musicians have been left fearing for the future of the 140-year-old band. without vital funds for instruments, music and band room rental live music will struggle to survive.
It is believed that the band is faced with losing all of its ticket sales and committee funds to reimburse the individuals that were affected.
It is believed that CCTV has been passed to Humberside Police. Grimsby Central Hall is believed to be changing their procedures so this cannot happen again.
The band hopes to recoup a lot of the money stolen at other performances. They are performing at Grimsby 10k race on July 21st and on Cleethorpes prom on July 28th and August 11th.
