Summer league week 3.
Monday 20th may 2019.
Week 3 saw 18 players take to the oches at the home of Grimsby 501 darts birdseye sports and social club.
On week 3, two players dropped due to being unable to committ to the league. Liam Jewitt and Ken Smith which leaves the league with 18 players and a total of £602 prize money up for grabs.
Hayden Newbegin got the night off to a good start for himself hitting a 180 and a 19 dart leg going on to win 4-1. Hayden also beat his brother Ash Newbegin with general ease also hitting another 180.
Daz Mawer also hit 2 180s on the night 1 against Dave East, Daz went on to win 4-1. The other 180 was VS Graham Field but 180 wasn’t enough for Daz as Graham won the game 4-0. Graham also went on to win 2 more games on the night.
The leader after schedule of play is John Riches as he won won 2 games and drew 1, beating Jordan Waller and Gary Smith but drawing to Daniel Keaney. Losing his record of 100% win rate.
Keaney also played Richard Foster but not as lucky as fozzie (richard) won 4-1.
Last week’s only players not to have a point Alicia Briggs & Stuart Cox corrected that fact tonight as they faced off against each other and drew to earn a point each.
Callum Jewitt was back in action tonight and won 4-0 against all 3 opponents played Ash Newbegin, Laura Dwyer and Stewart May.
Richard Foster (fozzie) pictured above took out the highest checkout of the season so far with a 150 checkout in his 4-0 win over Mark Braithwaite.
