Clash with league leaders Doncaster Town

On Monday Cleethorpes Cricket Club moved to within 4 points of 4 Probate & Wills ECB Yorkshire South Premier League leaders Doncaster Town after inflicting a massive 121 run victory over the previously unbeaten table toppers.
A match turning 7th wicket partnership of 93 put Cleethorpes in the driving seat before a personal league best from Lee Charlton demolished the visitors batting line up.
Put into bat Cleethorpes lost an early wicket before James Osmond and Louis Kimber added 90 for the second wicket. Although Osmond was caught behind after making 35, Kimber went on to pass 50 for the fourth time this season.
After Kimbers (69) departure Tom Rollinson continued to keep up a brisk run rate before being adjudged leg before. This started a mini collapse which saw Cleethorpes reduced to 164-6
At this stage of proceedings Joe Baker joined Basheeru Walters (the Cleethorpes overseas player) at the crease. Together they demolished the visitors bowling attack as they flayed it to all parts of the ground and beyond.
Walters slammed five huge sixes with his 5th completing a 42 ball half century and bringing up the 250. Baker meanwhile had hit 4 boundaries as he compiled 39 runs from 32 balls as they brought the innings to a close with the board showing 257-6.
Walters continued to torment Doncaster when the visitors began their reply. In only his second over of a hostile opening spell he had James Stuart caught behind.
After bowling seven accurate pacey overs Walters was replaced by Lee Charlton who proceeded to dominate the batsmen as he demolished the top order. Kimber brought spin into the attack and also started to pick up wickets as Doncaster were reduced to 93-6.

The innings was brought to a close in the 40th over when Kimber claimed his 3rd wicket, but it was Charlton who lead his side from the field after returning personal best figures of 6-48, and ensuring Cleethorpes collected a maximum 12 points.
