By As exclusively revealed by The Grimsby Independent back in January the sale of GTFC is now a matter of days away.
The sale means John Fenty’s long reign as ‘Chairman’ will becoming to an end.
The exciting prospect of potentially more money coming into the club for both players and redevelopment is sure to excite fans and rejuvenate interest that waned at the end of last season due to the poor finish. The delay in the announcement was thought to be the club meeting the criteria of keeping their League Two status.
Unconfirmed reports put a Hedge Fund Businessman with local connections to the town in the frame. Tom Shutes is the main believed by many to be that man.
This announcement comes on the back of the work happening behind the scenes to redevelop a site off Freeman street or possibly on the docklands across the road from Freeman Street, possibly on the Marina.
