Grandson of a Trawler-man set to takeover at GTFC

Grandson of a Trawler-man set to takeover at GTFC.  Tom Shutes is widely tipped to take over the helm at Grimsby Town Football Club as exclusively reported yesterday by the Grimsby Independent.

Tom Shutes has been involved in the Greater Town deal on the steering group which positions him well to understand the needs of the town.

Tom has a number of Businesses that he operates from his London base.  He also operates a number of charitable organisations

The Club have yet to make an official announcement but is expected early next week.

Having reportedly passed the test set by the EFL for ‘Owners and Directors test’ to confirm sufficient funds to run the club it is now just the anxious wait for fans to have the deal signed and delivered. Understandably fans will not be convinced until they see it for themselves.

The following restructure of the board could mean John Fenty stepping away from the club in an official, but would still be expected to continue his relationship as a fan.
