Labour MP Melanie Onn meets Northern Powerhouse Minister regarding the Town Deal for Grimsby

The MP has written to the Minister following the meeting to ensure the project stays true to the purpose of improving the lives of Grimsby residents.

The Great Grimsby MP met last week with the Minister for the Northern Powerhouse and Local Growth Jake Berry MP along with Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers to discuss the priorities and progress on the Town Deal for the Great Grimsby area.

In her letter to the Minister this week Melanie Onn MP reinforced that while investment in our town is welcome, it is vital that this project stays true to its original purpose of improving the lives and opportunities of residents. She urges the government to ensure that the Town Deal brings positive regeneration with a clear purpose in Grimsby.

      More useless words from MP’s with no power whatsoever to improve peoples lives in their contingencies. Look at the ice making building on the docks, it’s a disgrace. Left derelict for over 40 years. What have our wonderful MP’s done about that? NOTHING. The east and west marsh areas are another example. What efforts are they making to bring the fishing industry back? All they do is talk, they have no real power.
