The Sherlocks have today shared the video for their new lead single ‘NYC (Sing It Loud)’ featuring actor & friend of the band, Thomas Turgoose.
“One of the most enjoyable video shoots we’ve done. It was a top laugh!” – The Sherlocks
“I mean obviously other than the obvious being a big fan of the band, I get to call them all friends as well so it was a win win for me and a pleasure to help the boys on what’s gonna be another great album!” – Thomas Turgoose
Local celebrity Thomas Turgoose rose to fame for his role as Shaun Fields, in the cult film and TV Series ‘This Is England’. Since ‘This Is England’, Turgoose has become one of the nations most loved actors, going on to star in ‘Eden Lake’, ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ and Game of Thrones’.
Thomas is no stranger to appearing in music videos, as eleven years ago he featured in local lads The Brightlights video for ‘Inspired By’, a video which was filmed in The Leaking Boot and around the fish docks. Turgoose also had the starring role in cult indie band Maximo Park’s video for ‘Hips And Lips’, where he proclaims to be their number one fan and proceeds to dance and lip sync around his bedroom to the track.
With their 2017 debut album ‘Live For The Moment’, Sheffield quartet The Sherlocks established themselves as key contenders in a new wave of British bands keeping alt-rock and indie vital for a new generation of fans. The album fired into the charts at #6 as the band inspired devotion whether they went, from shows with Liam Gallagher to an international array of festival dates to rapturously received shows in Japan.
Now The Sherlocks enter a new chapter in their career with the news that their eagerly anticipated second album ‘Under Your Sky’ will be released on October 4th on Infectious Music.
