As the hunt continues for Abdi Ali, Craig Whittle is accused of washing the bloodstained body of Shaun Lyall.
Craig Whittle appeared in court on Friday charged with washing the body of murder victim Shaun Lyall. Mr. Lyall died in a brutal attack at a house in Sidney Street in Cleethorpes. Mr. Whittle has also been accused of disposing of bloodstained footwear.
Shaun was attacked on July 17th last year at his home in Sidney Street. He died from multiple injuries which were inflicted by a number of blunt and sharp weapons a post mortem report revealed.
Whittle 45 of Corporation Road was charged with intentionally encouraging or assisting the commission of Shaun Lyall’s murder when he appeared before Grimsby Magistrates on Friday. Whittle was also charged with possession of a knife, possession of cocaine with intent to supply and affray in Blackpool on July 13th. He will appear before Grimsby Crown Court on August 12th.
Humberside Police are still looking for Abdi Ali in connection with the murder. He is originally from Somalia and has links to the Grimsby area, and also Sheffield, London, Lancashire, South Yorkshire, Merseyside, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Lincolnshire, and Cleveland.
Police have appealed to anyone with any information about Abdi Ali also known as Madman to contact Humberside Police on 999 or 101 quoting log 517 of 17th July.
Police advise that you do not approach him and call the police in the first instance.
