Have you got a happy place you escape to when you’re stressed?
Life can be quite stressful at times it could be work problems or family life that is so busy and hectic, and trying to keep up with everything can seem like a hard slog.
New research has found that four out of five of us has a happy place that we like to go to to escape the problems in life. The study was commissioned by Skipton building society.
They found that for a lot of people their happy place for getting away from stress was somewhere quite simple. Relaxing in the garden, walking in the countryside and sitting in the local pub where some of the favourite places. Also on the list was soaking in a long hot bath, having a cup of tea in bed, or being on holiday.
Many people preferred to escape to their happy place on their own rather than with other people. Women’s happy places were more associated with physical or artistic pursuits than men. Women were more likely to find their happy place at a yoga class than men.
It is very important to have somewhere to escape to physically or mentally to take your mind off everyday tasks and help you feel in a good place.
