You could be unfit to drive after only one pint.

Neuroscientists have found that just one pint of beer or a large glass of wine hampers a drivers ability to function considerably.

They believe that the findings have important implications for the legal and social responsibility of drivers. And questions if the current alcohol limits for driving are safe.

Until now research has only looked at how drinking affects behaviour such as loss of inhibition, impulsiveness, and aggression.

In the research, people were given alcohol below the legal driving limit. The results showed that overconfidence and potentially risky behaviour were more common even with low levels of alcohol.

It is believed that the results of the study support the argument to lower the limit has a lot of momentum.

Should there be zero tolerance on alcohol for drivers?
