By THIS summer, inspired by the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, the Summer Reading Challenge takes on a space theme, landing in Lincs Inspire Libraries on Saturday, July 20.
The Summer Reading Challenge, which is led by national charity The Reading Agency, is an initiative to encourage children aged between four and 11 years old to read six books or more during the summer holidays.
Parents can register their children at Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Immingham or Waltham Libraries and they will have until September 14 to complete the Challenge.
Library services will also be running several events throughout the summer to support and encourage children to reach their reading targets. Included in these events will be book chats, craft sessions and fun days. A celebration event at Grimsby Auditorium in September will acknowledge the achievements of all those who complete the Challenge.
