Stalker rammed ex-girlfriends car off the road and bombarded her with text messages.

A stalker who was a heavy drinker repeatedly rammed his ex-girlfriends car and forced it off the road which caused it to crash into a bus stop. He also bombarded her with 185 WhatsApp messages in only four hours and also threatened to put explicit pictures of her on facebook. He also phoned her 50 times on the night of May 13th.

She had ended the relationship and he could not cope. Lewis Mclaughlin 25 of Grimsby admitted stalking between May 6th and May 13th dangerous driving and having no insurance at Grimsby Crown Court.

Mclaughlin had convictions for 48 previous offences, including wounding, assault, affray, and harassment and had also breached an antisocial behaviour warning.

Fortunately, the woman was not injured when he forced her car off the road but she was terrified. He said he was drinking heavily at the time and was struggling with a lot of problems. He was more stable now and wants to tackle his difficulties.

He was jailed for 18 months and was banned from driving for two and a half years, and even though he has never passed a driving test he must pass an extended retest.
