JOIN Lincs Inspire and New Perspectives Theatre Company on Friday, July 26 from 7:30pm at Cleethorpes Library as twelve local people tell tales rooted in the Grimsby, Cleethorpes and East Marsh area.
‘Scales’ is the first of two performances, which will celebrate the fish, football and friendships that anchor us to this coastal town. They are the culmination of a project that started earlier in 2019, funded by The Arts Council England Libraries Fund, seeking to reflect the ebb and flow of a unique town shaped by industry, family and community.
Rachel McWilliam, Arts Development Officer, Lincs Inspire said: “We have relished having this opportunity to work with New Perspectives Theatre Company and the local community. The final performances will be a celebration of the local area’s rich culture, including everything from industry to sport. Let’s put the Great back in to Grimsby!”
These productions are part of a larger programme of theatre and performance work that has been taking place at Cleethorpes Library during 2018/19. Lincs Inspire are also currently working alongside New Perspectives Theatre Company and Breakwater Theatre Company in mentoring two winning writers from a Scratch Night competition earlier in the year.
‘Scales’ will also be performed on Friday, August 2 from 5pm at The Courtyard at Freeman Street Market, Grimsby.
Tickets cost £5, bookings for the Cleethorpes Library performance can be made by calling the Library on (01472) 323650. Bookings for The Courtyard performance can be made by contacting Josie Moon at msjosiemoon@gmail.com. For more information visit lincsinspire.com.
