Shortly after midnight local community officers on patrol spotted a number of men getting out of a vehicle carrying a weapon and acting suspiciously off Corporation Road on Charlton Street in Grimsby.
Back-up arrived and following a standoff with officers ten men were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.
Detective Inspector Kerry Bull said, “A large quantity of drugs, drugs cultivation equipment and a vehicle have been seized and the ten men remain in our custody while we carry out our investigations.
“Officers will be at the scene and in the local area today to provide reassurance to the community, if you are concerned about the police activity please speak to our officers.
“This is an excellent result for the local community team. Locating premises where drugs are being cultivated helps to disrupt the growth and supply of drugs and makes our communities safer for everyone.”
If anyone has information about drugs in their communities please call Humberside Police to report it on their non-emergency number 101.
If anyone has information about this incident please call them on 101 quoting log 12 22/07/19.
