By NELBDG players Nicolas Kong and Adam Fong were in Hull the other weekend at the Hull Badminton Centre for a Badminton England tournament, in the men’s doubles event.
As a reasonably new doubles partnership, this was to be their first proper test.
The pairing immediately asserted their dominance on the tournament during the initial group stage, winning all three matches comfortably without dropping a game. Nic and Adam as the tournament developed, progressed through to the men’s doubles final, which in their first tournament would’ve been a success in itself.
The final, as expected, proved to be a much tighter affair but the pair again proved to be too strong for their opponents and ran out winners 21-15 and 21-15.
A big congratulations from all associated with the NELBDG.
Onwards and upwards as the pair are already planning on further tournaments in the none too distant future.
