Multi-agency community safety street walks take place in Immingham

Officers from a number of organisations across the borough have taken to the streets of Immingham to support local people.

On the evenings of 24 and 25 July, a multi-agency operation took place which involved North East Lincolnshire Council, ENGIE, Humberside Fire and Rescue and Humberside Police.

Representatives from each organisation carried out a community safety street walk visiting a number of properties.

This included advice about household waste and recycling, anti-social behaviour and noise disturbance, housing related issues, checking smoke alarms and offering home fire safety advice and educating children, and encouraging residents to sign up to police community alerts and the Big Community Switch.

Councillor Ron Shepherd, portfolio holder for safer and stronger communities, said: “It’s fantastic that key organisations in North East Lincolnshire are coming together to support the Immingham community.

“Multi-agency work is invaluable to ensuring important messages are delivered to local people and that they are getting the information they need to keep safe and ‘in the know’ with what is going on in their area.

“North East Lincolnshire Council is committed to working with residents to ensure a safer and stronger cohesion of communities.”
