PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Meet the team behind Phone ‘n’ Ride

Event: Information event promoting the Phone ‘n’ Ride Service. Representatives from NELC, ENGIE and the new Phone ‘n’ Ride operator, Stagecoach, will be available for photos and interview opportunities

North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE, have unveiled Stagecoach East Midlands as the new delivery partner of the Phone ‘n’ Ride Service.

Stagecoach East Midlands recently won the contract to deliver the Phone ‘n’ Ride Service for the next two years.

Marking the new delivery partner to the service a ‘Meet the team’ event is being held in the Riverhead Square on Friday 2 August, 11am to 1pm.

The council’s regeneration partner, ENGIE, is hosting the event in alongside Stagecoach, providing an opportunity to find out more about the Phone ‘n’ Ride Service, meet the team, see the vehicle fleet and ask the Transport Team any transport-related questions.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for transport, said: “The Phone ‘n’ Ride service is a great offer for people needing to travel across our borough, with the option to book in advance, not to mention the very low cost attached to the service.

“This event is a chance to come along and meet the team, check out the busses and find out how the service can help you.”

Matt Cranwell, Managing Director for Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “Stagecoach East Midlands are delighted to be supporting North East Lincolnshire Council and ENGIE in providing three buses to support the local community in gaining access to facilities such as work, shops and recreational activities.

“The phone and ride element of the service will work to help residents, particularly those with mobility difficulties, have easier and regular access to the local community in areas where services may be limited. We are pleased to be working closely with the council and ENGIE to offer this much needed service to the area.”

What is Phone ‘n’ Ride?

Phone ‘n’ Ride is North East Lincolnshire’s on-demand bus service with no fixed route or timetable – users simply book where they want to go.

The service was established in 2005 to ensure residents could continue to get around the borough and access key services, the service continue to do that today and assists residents and visitors to travel to and from work, education, health appointments and leisure venues.
