Blue light to Nee Naw day for summer holiday fun

Grimsby

2 Aug 2019

Are your kids climbing the walls? Then why not bring them to climb theirs’s instead?

Nee Naw day is back and this year it’s not only going to be bigger and better than ever but it’s also raising money for an excellent cause too.

The event will be taking place at Cromwell Road Police Station, Grimsby, from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, August 17, with fun for all the family.

PCSO Jason Hare said: “We all look forward to Nee Naw day – it’s one of the highlights of our year.

“Last year thousands of people came along and it was an absolutely fantastic day.

“This year it will be extra special, as we’re raising money for the Health Tree Foundation – a fantastic local charity working with the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, providing vital equipment and support for patients and their families in our area.”

As well as fun and games, including a climbing wall and the chance to meet the animals from the Nunsthorpe Farm, you’ll be able to explore vehicles used by our officers and other emergency services and police be on hand to offer advice to kids on how to have fun and stay safe over the summer.

PCSO Hare added: “We will be joined by our colleagues from Humberside Fire And Rescue Service and there will even be a vintage American police car to explore.

“And it wouldn’t be Nee Naw day if we didn’t take our turn in the stocks – so if you’ve ever fancied throwing a wet sponge at a cop, then now’s your chance.”

Laura Gooderham, Community Champion for the Health Tree Foundation at Grimsby Hospital, said: “We are delighted that we are the chosen charity for this year’s Nee Naw Day.

“We are so excited to be a part of this fantastic event and cannot thank the officers at Cromwell Road Police Station enough for supporting their local charity.”
