Cleethorpes Cricket Club to entertain Treeton in the 4 Probate & Wills ECB Yorkshire South Premier League on Saturday

Following their morale boosting victory at Whitley Hall Cleethorpes Cricket Club now entertain Treeton in the 4 Probate & Wills ECB Yorkshire South Premier League on Saturday. Last weeks victory has moved Cleethorpes 16 points clear of the relegation spots, but they have to keep a wary eye on Hallam who are making a determined attempt to escape the drop.

After not tasting victory since April, Hallam have struck a rich vein of form through July with three victories which has seen them move off the bottom spot.

Treeton come to Chichester Road on the back of a tremendous victory over league leaders Doncaster Town. Their form however has been inconsistent and previous to last weeks victory they had suffered consecutive defeats.

When the two sides came up against each other earlier this season it was Treeton who claimed the 12 points after scoring  248-9 with key player Steve Foster hitting 74 and their captain, Sam Drury, 60. Cleethorpes replied with 224-9, which did earn them 4 batting bonus points, thanks to Tom Rollinson making 45 and Louis Kimber 36.

The Meggies will be hoping to reverse the points allocation on Saturday after their bowling performance last week, but they will need a substantial improvement from their top order batsmen. Louis Kimber (pictured)is due a score after making an impact before being side-lined through injury. Without the all-round skills of Jordan Cook for the remainder of the campaign the youthful side will look to the experience of the Osmond brothers and the reliability of Bill Kirby if they are going to continue their move away from danger.

With youngster Max Taylor away on holiday Cleethorpes are forced to make just one change to their line-up. They have decided to introduce 16 year old Jayden Stocks for his debut appearance in not only the Yorkshire League, but also for the 1st XI.
