Moody Lane road closures

The second phase of works on Moody Lane have now been completed and the road has been reopened to vehicles between Laforey Road and Moody Lane.

The next phase of works have now started which will see the widening of the footway to incorporate a shared use footway and cycleway.

The disused rail tracks and crossing signals on Moody Lane will also be removed.

To ensure the safety of road users and workers during the removal of the rail tracks, sections of the road will need to be closed while these works are taking place.

The closures will take place on the following dates:

Monday 12 August – Friday 16 August

Removal of rail track on Moody Lane outside Novartis. During this time, there will be a temporary road closure between the junction with Woad Lane and Gilbey Road roundabout. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained.

Monday 16 September – Friday 20 September

Removal of rail track on Moody Lane outside Huntsman Tioxide. During this time, there will be a temporary road closure between the junction with Woad Lane and Gilbey Road roundabout. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained.

The project is due to be completed by December 2019.

Advanced warning signs and signed diversion routes will be put in place during the closure.
