Grimsby 501 Dart Summer League

Monday 12th August 2019 the Grimsby 501 dart summer league is now taking shape and league positions are stabilising however the top 4 places anything could happen.

Will it be the current leader Hayden Newbegin that takes top spot or will he slip up and give John Riches every chance of winning the league if he can over come a few tough opponents. Will Callum Jewitt sneak in for a chance of finishing top or 2nd? Can Graham Field shock everyone and finish in top 3 all this is to be seen over the final 4 weeks of the summer league.

Pictured above is Tony Newbegin the player who on 12th August checked out the highest checkout of the season so far hitting a 158 against Daniel Keaney will this be the highest checkout come the end of the season? Only 160 164 167 and 170 is possible to beat the checkout and if not Tony Newbegin has made a great account of earning £50.

For the other possible £50 the most 180s only Graham Field added to the tally on 12th August however he has only hit 2 so far. The most 180s so far is Daniel Keaney and Daz Mawer with 5 each. Callum Jewitt is closely following with 4 and quite a few players not far behind with 3.

Daz Mawer & Daniel Keaney over the next 2 weeks are playing multiple games due to being absent on the final 2 weeks of the season. Is tiredness going to kick in as  fixtures go on? Tonight Daz Mawer won 3 games 4-0 but lost to Graham Field in his final game 4-1. Daniel Keaney played 3 games losing to Daz Mawer but beating David East and Tony Newbegin but as said above Tony was not too disheartened as he took out the 158 checkout and also beat Jordan Waller earlier in the night.

Hayden Newbegin took full advantage of John Riches not being in attendance as he beat Stewart May and Ash Newbegin to go back in top spot in the league.

Graham Field looks to of secured 4th spot with another 3 wins over Daz Mawer, Stewart May and Laura Dwyer.

Laura also played David East on the night however was on the wrong end of a 4-2 result. Alicia Briggs played 3 games but was on the wrong end of all the results in the games she played. Gary Smith only played 1 game and won 4-2 against Stewart May. Callum Jewitt played 2 games and won both as he faced off against Stewart May and Ken Smith however Ken went on to beat Ash Newbegin in his last game of the night.
