CLEETHORPES BATSMAN HITS DOUBLE CENTURY

 

Cleethorpes Cricket Club batsman Louis Kimber hit 246 on Sunday but unfortunately it was not for the Meggies but for Lincolnshire. Playing for the County side in their 3 day game against Hertfordshire he took the bowling apart as he smashed his runs from 252 balls after using 104 to complete his first 50.

His scoring rate then increased dramatically with his second 50 coming from 74 balls, his 3rd from 28, a fourth from 32 while his final 46 runs came from just 14 deliveries.

While at the crease Kimber not only hit 18 boundaries but cleared the ropes 12 times as he took the Hertfordshire bowling apart enabling Lincolnshire to reach 428-4  before the end of play on day one.
