Hull hammer attack suspect arrested at Manchester Airport

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of carrying out an alleged hammer attack in Hull – the minute he stepped off a plane at Manchester Airport.

The man who is from Hull was on his way back from holiday when the arrest was made by one of our constables on Sunday 1 September around 11pm.

He was brought back to Hull to be interviewed in connection with an incident alleged to have happened around 5pm on Oslo Road in the city on Wednesday 26 June.

A man was reported to have had his bike stolen before being assaulted with what’s been described as a lump hammer.
The arrested man has been released under investigation.
