Fire at White Rose Way industrial unit

A fire broke out at an industrial unit Doncaster’s White Rose Way this morning.  This caused major disruption to a main road due to the large amount of smoke

Crews from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the unit at about 09:55.  At its height, 4 fire appliances and around 20 firefighters were at the scene, and huge plumes of smoke could be seen across the town.  Firefighters were expected to stay at the site for several hours to damp down

People were asked to avoid the area.  Those living or working nearby were advised to keep their doors and windows closed.

Nobody is thought to have been injured.
