By Four people have been arrested by our proactive officers on suspicion of drugs offences in Hull over the past couple of days, with thousands of pounds worth of class A drugs and cash also seized.
Earlier today Thursday 5 September a suspected drug deal was observed in an alley off Fitzroy Street. A 43-year-old man who’s from Hull was followed to Edgecumbe Street where he was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
A property on the street was also visited where a 41-year-old man from Hull and a 29-year-old man from Widnes were arrested for being concerned in and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug.
Forty wraps of class A drugs with a street value of approximately £800, and £500 in cash were seized. The men are still in our custody.
The day before, on Wednesday 4 September, a 19-year-old man from Sheffield was arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs after a suspected deal was observed in an alleyway off Kings Bench Street.
He was stopped and searched under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. The man was found to have £935 in cash on him as well as 26 wraps of crack cocaine and 15 wraps of heroin worth an estimated £800 on the streets.
The drugs and cash were seized. The arrested man has been released under investigation.
Inspector Paul Bennett from Humberside Police’s Proactive Unit said: “These four arrests so close together just show that our officers are working every day to take lethal drugs off the streets.
“The amount of drugs and cash that have been seized, as well was the arrests made, sends a clear message to the dealers that we’re out there and we’re not stopping.
“I want to commend the officers for their continued commitment and dedication to fighting drugs activity all across our force area.
“My message to those drug dealers that think they can bring drugs into the Humberside Police area, is think again.
“We don’t want drugs where we live, so we work hard to make sure drugs aren’t where you live.”
