Man accused of assisting in the killing of Shaun Lyall has now been charged with murder.

 

Man accused of assisting in the killing of Shaun Lyall has now been charged with murder.

Craig Whittle was accused previously of assisting an offender by washing the blood-stained body of Mr. Lyall and disposing of blood-stained footwear. The original charges against him and one of affray have now been replaced with ones of murder and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

Shaun Lyall was beaten to death with a variety of sharp and blunt weapons at his home in Sidney Street, Cleethorpes in the early evening of July 17th last year. Craig Whittle was further remanded in custody and a possible date for the trial is December 2nd. Police are still hunting the original prime suspect in the murder investigation Abdi Ali it is thought that he may have fled to Somalia. But there are no extradition arrangements with the East African Country.
