Cleethorpes GP surgery threatened with closure.
Following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission Blundell Park surgery could be forced to close. It has been put in special measures when it was rates as inadequate in nearly every single category. After a comprehensive inspection on July 9th it was rated as inadequate for providing safe effective and well led services.
The practice was found not to have clear systems and processes to keep patients safe and could not effectively support high quality care.
The findings mean that the surgery will be kept under review until another inspection in six months.
The CQC findings are based on what they found when they inspected and information from ongoing monitoring of data about services. Also information given to them from the provider, the public and other organisations.
If there is not enough improvement they could close the surgery. Putting it on special measures will give people who use the service reassurance that the care they get should improve.
