An early Oktoberfest tonight at Doncaster Brewery

Doncaster Brewery are holding a special Oktoberfest Stammtisch Evening tonight (19 September).

A Stammtisch (German for “regulars’ table”) is an informal group meeting held on a regular basis.  It’s a friendly get-together rather than a structured meeting.

Doncaster Brewery’s Stammtisch is a friendly get together of German speakers.  It is organised in the hopes of reviving this German tradition.  So if you’re a native speaker and miss speaking your mother tongue, or if you’re a non-native speaker and want to brush up on your conversational German, why not go along for a drink or two?

It begins at 8pm, at 7 Young Street, Doncaster DN1 3EL.

Wir freuen uns drauf, dich dort zu begrüßen. Prost!

Mary Vickers moved to North East Lincolnshire in 2010, from the Wiltshire/Hampshire border, to become Urban and Industrial Chaplain NELincs. Made redundant in 2017, she's maintained many of her connections within the business, faith, and other local communities. She's also decided to stay here rather than return to either the south or her husband's native Yorkshire, so that she can continue to enjoy and help promote the positives of NELincs.
