Mother pays tribute to son and his grandfather killed in crash

A mother has paid tribute to her “beautiful son” Jay-Tyler, and his grandfather Colin, who both died in a collision near Doncaster on Friday.

Colin Leeson, 66, and his grandson Jay-Tyler Bromilow, aged 17 were travelling through Hickleton.  Mr Leeson and his teenage grandson died at the scene.  The lorry driver was not injured.

Jay’s mother released a photograph and statement over the weekend:

My beautiful son was too precious to stay.  He was too intelligent for this earth, so he’s took upon a journey with his wingman, his grandad not only to travel the world but to travel the universe together.  I love you unconditionally.  Love you always love, Mam xxxxx

She also thanked members of the public who stopped to help at the scene of the crash which happened at around 12:20pm on Friday 20th September.

The collision happened near the junction of the A635 Barnsely Road with Red Hill Lane.  Mr Leeson and Jay-Tyler were travelling in a silver Citroen Dispatch, and the collision was between this vehicle and a blue-grey Scania HGV.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for anyone who saw either of the vehicles beforehand, or who witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam footage to come forward.  If you can help please call 101 quoting incident number 389 of 20 September 2019.
