Plans for pet funerals and farewell chapel at Grimsby crematorium.

The farewell chapel will hopefully be used by small family groups for intimate services and will cover the existing courtyard. It is believed the space will also serve as a place where families can say goodbye to their pets. The nearest facility for pets at the moment is in Scunthorpe at Greenacre Pets crematorium. The extension proposal will be on the western side of the building it will include re-purposing of existing external storage areas and will also include a small courtyard.

The plans follow submitted plans to double the current car park. There will soon be 170 places which will mean drivers not having to park further down Weelsby Ave. Both applications will be due to be heard by North East Lincs planning meeting later this year.
