Rail and fashion come together for Doncaster Fashion Week ‘1st Edition’

Doncaster Fashion Week’s show ‘1st Edition’ takes place as the National College of High Speed Rail on 28 September.

The culmination is a high octane, catwalk experience showcasing 20+ emerging fashion designers from all over the world. Their collections will be presented on a catwalk alongside a full size High Speed Train. Organisers boast ‘cutting edge fashion alongside cutting edge rail design’.

In addition to the local rail connection, the aim is to make the catwalk show an experience by mixing production, DJs, and performance.

20+ emerging fashion designers; plus 6 international Designers from Berlin, Barcelona, Mexico, Morocco, Rome and China will be showcased at what is said to be a world class, prestigious event. Local businesses and members of Doncaster’s Creative Community are also involved. Music will be provided by Vision, Doncaster’s leading underground House music, exclusive event brand.

Another feature of the show is that some ‘behind the scenes’ activities will be in full view – for instance the hairstylists and make-up team will be creating the fashion forward looks, in front of the audience.

Tickets are available here. All attendees must be aged 16 years and over.

Mary Vickers moved to North East Lincolnshire in 2010, from the Wiltshire/Hampshire border, to become Urban and Industrial Chaplain NELincs. Made redundant in 2017, she's maintained many of her connections within the business, faith, and other local communities. She's also decided to stay here rather than return to either the south or her husband's native Yorkshire, so that she can continue to enjoy and help promote the positives of NELincs.
