 Is there a right age to allow your child a mobile phone?

What age do you think is too young for a child to have a mobile phone? it is a question that every parent will face at some point. Do you think they should be at secondary school before they get one? One person has said that she told her 11-year-old daughter she could not have one until she was at secondary school, but her grandfather gave her his old phone much to her annoyance. Another said her 10-year-old daughter is not allowed one until secondary school but she is probably the only one in her class without one. A  friend has let her 8-year-old son have one.
