Police continue to probe after two shootings in Doncaster Village

After two shootings occurred in Doncaster Village, police are continuing to probe.

At around 11:55 am yesterday, Armed Police were deployed to Armthorpe after shots were fired in Mere Lane.

Whilst schools in the area were alerted, a police hunt was organised for the gunman, including a helicopter used in the search.

Investigations were carried out at the crime scene while a police cordon was put in place on Mere Lane.

Officers arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of a firearm where he remained in custody last night.

Links have been made from the gun attack to the shooting of a dog on Clay Lane at 10pm the previous day.

District Commander for Doncaster, Chief Superintendent Shaun Morley stated; “We are treating these as targeted incidents relating to suspected organised crime groups.”
