By A 23-year-old man has sadly died following a single vehicle collision in Kirkburn on Friday.
Matthew Stead was travelling along the A614 near to Kirkburn on a Suzuki 599cc at around 8.35pm, when he collided with the kerb and left the road.
Mr Stead suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. His family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers. They have asked their privacy is please respected at this time.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time or who may have seen the collision to please come forward.
