Violence between neighbours over cat.
Two neighbours had a row over a cat that erupted into violence. They had been good friends previously but when one of the neighbours thought she heard her cat scream in distress. She went round to her neighbour Carl Nalder’s flat and is believed to have etched marks on his door with an implement. he opened the door and punched her twice and she suffered a fractured cheekbone. It is believed that she was in drink at the time so there was an element of self-defence.
At Grimsby Crown Court Carl Nalder of Roberts Street admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on his neighbour. He was sentenced to an 18-month community order and 20 days of rehabilitation activity days.
