Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating allegations of sexual assault of toddlers at a nursery in Torquay.
Police have contacted more than 100 families. Following multiple allegations of sexual assault at a children’s nursery.
A male worker believed to be a teenager has been arrested and bailed and has since moved out of the area. CCTV has been taken from the nursery and could play a vital role in the case. A
s a result of CCTV enquiries it is believed that a number of children aged 2 plus have been identified as potential victims of contact offences.
It is believed police first received the information relating to the allegations at the nursery in July.
Since then the police investigation has been ongoing. It is believed that contact is limited to the nursery setting and police do not believe that any other members of staff had knowledge of these matters.
They later arrested the suspect who has been bailed until November 22nd. It is believed that the actions are by a lone individual and the offences do not involve the taking or distributing of any images.
In the months since the arrest, Ofsted has suspended the nursery’s licence while investigations are carried out.
