Smart Energy Savings on offer for Local Businesses

Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire, a programme led by North East Lincolnshire council, will be holding a suppliers event for suppliers on the grants that are available to businesses to go towards energy saving products.

The programme aims to offer support to small to medium businesses located in the Greater Lincolnshire area, to help them to reduce their energy consumption and carbon emissions.

A big part of the programme is grant funding that can go towards a range of energy efficient products such as LED lights, solar PV, heat pumps, boilers and much more!

The supplier event will cover the application process, eligibility criteria, products that can be covered by the grant and extra support that is available.

Helen Norris, Programme Manager at Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire, said that:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for suppliers to help businesses find funding to become more energy efficient. It not only benefits suppliers by making their products more affordable, but it may be the swaying point for businesses to invest in technology that will reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint”

“We want to equip suppliers with the knowledge on the grants available to make businesses aware of the support they can access. The project is funded until March 2021 and we want businesses to take advantage of this before it goes!”

There are two grant funding options available. A £500 voucher to go towards an energy saving product after completing 12 hours of contact time with the programme. This includes a workshop with industry leading experts in energy and resource efficiency; helping to equip businesses with the knowledge on how they can save money on energy bills.

Another route is a 38% grant that goes towards the total net cost of an energy saving project.

For energy saving projects under £25K only one quote is required as a minimum (we do recommend more than one to see value for money), meaning that businesses can go with a supplier of their choice.

The grant can even help to cover the cost of independent installation, whether that be an electrician installing new lights or a plumber fitting a new boiler.

Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire is a £9.2m programme that has been partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund to help support business to save energy.

To find out more about the programme and what is available there will be two supplier events held this November. One on November 26th in Grimsby at the Oakland Hotel and another on the 27th November in Lincoln at the Lincoln Hotel.

As a supplier you may also be interested as a business in your own right. The programme also offers expert advice, workshops and support.
