Navigo Shine a light for mental health this Christmas

A first of its kind event will take place this Christmas as NAViGO invites families to shine a light of hope for people affected by mental health problems.

The leading mental health services provider will be hosting Lights of Hope – an uplifting evening to both show support to people with ongoing mental health problems and to remember lost loved ones who have been affected by mental health.

For a minimum donation of £3, people will receive a Christmas decoration displaying their loved one’s name and chosen message while a Light of Hope will be illuminated in their honour at the special tree lighting ceremony.

Names will also be added to a Book of Hope for all donators to take home.

The event is in aid of NAViGO’s official charity – the Gardiner Hill Foundation – established to enhance and enrich the lives of people with mental health problems.

Tom Hunter, chair of NAViGO and the Gardiner Hill Foundation said: “Christmas can be a very difficult time of year for many people, which is why we wanted to bring the local community together to offer love and support.

“We hope this will be a special evening providing family and friends with the opportunity to commemorate the life of a loved one but also enable people to say ‘I’m thinking of you’ and make a dedication as a symbol of hope for individuals currently affected by mental health problems.

“We hope that the evening will not only be a great opportunity to raise money for the Gardiner Hill Foundation but also highlight that mental health can and does affect so many people, in a variety of ways.”

Lights of Hope will take place on:

Thursday 5 December 2019
6.30pm
Grimsby Garden Centre, Grimsby Rd, Laceby, Grimsby DN37 7DY
Alongside the commemorative ceremony, there will be festive music and seasonal refreshments.
