By Officers working in Humberside Police’s proactive team have arrested ten men in connection with numerous offences in Hull in just one day!
The work done by the team has also resulted in charges for some of the suspects. All the charged men are due to appear at Hull Magistrates Court.
– Michael Shepherd, 30, from Orniscourt, Hull arrested on 19th Avenue after a foot pursuit by officers in Hull. Charged with two counts of theft relating to the theft of chocolate and high value outdoor clothing.
– Jordan Butler, 23, from Innescourt, Hull arrested at an address on 19th Avenue. Charged with theft of alcohol from a supermarket in December 2018.
– Officers attended a burglary reported to be in progress at the Station Inn on Station Drive. Two men were arrested inside. John Allinson, 46, from Durham Street in Hull has been charged with burglary. The other man was released with no further action taken.
– A man was arrested at Hull Crown Court after going there to watch proceedings of a case. He’s still in custody in connection with two offences of alleged witness intimidation.
– Two known men were spotted in a car on Preston Road which drove off through a red light, failing to stop. Marked patrol cars followed it and the men were later arrested on Ellerburn Avenue. One was arrested in connection with common assault, criminal damage, possession of a class B drug namely spice, and being wanted on prison recall. The other was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and failing to stop. Both are still in custody.
– Three men arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply after officers observed suspected drug deals on Wingfield Road. A man was stopped on the street and arrested. A car was stopped and two others were arrested. One of the men was also arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and possessing an offensive weapon. Class A drugs including heroin and crack cocaine, cash, knives and a mobile phones were seized. They’ve all been released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Rich Osgerby from Humberside Police’s Proactive Team said: “Results like this just illustrate the variety of work my officers do on a daily basis and stands testament their hard work and dedication in finding individuals involved in crime.
“Whether that be carrying out pre-planned warrants, knocking through doors, observing suspicious activity on the streets, to spotting known and wanted people.
“We act on intelligence as well as keeping our eyes peeled while out and about.
“You might not see us or even know we are there as we work in plain clothes, but ten arrests in one day, which have already led to three charges, sends out a very strong message to potential criminals to always keep looking over their shoulders.
“You just don’t know who is watching.”
