The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and Logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects.

The company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton.

They are now seeking Cleaners to join a team of cleaners to clean the various buildings as they are handed over to the end client. The role is considered permanent in that the role is for 2.5 years i.e. Until the end of 2021. Initially the team will be around 3 team members, but this will increase to 8 by the end of September and probably further increase until March 2020 when the last building will be completed.

Key Features of the Role:

Clean areas within buildings, including offices, corridors, staircases, ablutions, kitchenettes and storerooms.

Use various methods of cleaning, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming and polishing. and gather and empty rubbish from dedicated receptacles and deposit in specific locations.

Support the company recycling program and follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to stay safe and prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications and monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.

Notify supervisors concerning the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.

Clean, dust, and polish furniture and fixtures, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

Follow Hazard elimination program (HELP) and you may be required to undertake First Aid training and be a nominated First Aid rep.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Be an accomplished Cleaner ideally with commercial and industrial experience and be able to use the various types of equipment used in various cleaning processes.

Ideally experience of working in the local area, and within large-scale contracts within the oil and gas, construction or military industries would be ideal.

The wearing of company uniform and PPE which will be provided is expected.

Ideally have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company.

Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel.

What’s on Offer?

£25,200 plus benefits including 25 days holiday plus bank and public holidays.
