Aklakur Rahman: ‘angels’ told me to kill

Aklakur Rahman, 33, from Ipswich has been given three life sentences for several counts of attempted murder. Sentenced a Lincoln Crown Court yesterday, the Judge ordered he must serve minimum of 13 years before being eligible for release.

He crafted weapons from razor blades and a pieces of masonry.
In July, Rahman was convicted of attempting to murder Derek Walker and fellow inmate David Sutton at HMP Wayland in July 2017.

Just days later, he was found guilty of attempting to murder Sean Humphries at Lincoln Prison.

He was then also found guilty for attacking Daniel Preston with a screw at HMP Wakefield, in August 2017 and was handed a 5 year sentence.

All sentences will run concurrently.
During his trial at Lincoln Crown Court, Rahman claimed that he was insane when carrying out the attacks and that angels had told him to kill.
