Attempted mugging in broad daylight on Scartho Road

Officers are investigating reports of an attempted robbery in the Scartho Road area of Grimsby shortly after 9.30am on Monday 18 November.

A 15-year-old girl was walking along the footpath that leads from Scartho Road to Weelsby Avenue when she was reportedly approached by a woman. The woman spoke to the girl before allegedly trying to take her handbag.

The girl managed to get away with her handbag, suffering what are thought to be minor injuries to her hand.

The woman was said to be in her 30s, around 5ft 4ins tall, of medium build, with short dark brown hair and glasses. She was wearing a red hat and cream coloured trousers.
