Jurors at Lincoln Crown Court have today heard how, Linda Treeby, 64, was found severely injured after a vicious and pro-longed attack by her partner.

Linda and her partner, Andrew Highton were staying in a caravan at Summerlands Caravan Park, Igoldmells, near Skegness.
After a day of celebrations on her birthday, mother-of-three Linda was fatally assaulted by Highton, 51.

Jurors heard the case against him which detailed injuries sustained from punches, kicking and stamping.

A large cut on her forehead is alleged to have been sustained when Highton hit her across the head with a large glass ashtray.

It was only when witnesses nearby heard the attack and ran to get helped that he was detained. At that point Ms Treeby was still alive but she later died of such horrific injured.

Highton denies murder.

The trial continues.
